5 Tips for Making Injectables Last Longer

Whether you’re into fillers, anti-wrinkle injections or any other kind of anti ageing treatment, your goal is likely to be protecting the results and looking your best for longer. After all, you spend hundreds of dollars on perfecting your look - so why not save money by spreading your appointments a little further apart?

Here are our top 5 tips for looking after your cosmetic injectables in between treatments!

1. Start a Tailored Skincare Routine

Did you know that looking after your skin is one of the best ways to make fillers and anti-wrinkle treatments last longer?

“If wrinkle treatments and fillers are like exercise, then the products we apply on our skin are like a healthy diet!... You can get a good result with one, but if you focus on both it’s always better.”

It’s best to avoid makeup for about 24 hours after your appointment, and get yourself some special skincare products that will nurture your treatments at home.

Luckily for you, the Injectables Skin Care range has been designed especially for this reason, and there are 5 different products that you can try.

2. Stay Out of the Heat

Going into extreme heat after cosmetic injectables is not a great idea. In Australia, this is sometimes unavoidable, but you can avoid making this worse by not going in saunas or steam rooms immediately after an appointment.

We know that lots of you love to top up your tans in the summer, but exposure to the sun’s harmful UV rays can be a big problem. Always wear a high-factor sunscreen and cheat if you need to with a tan out of a bottle!

3. Drink Heaps of Water

Is there anything water can’t do? We all know it’s the healthiest drink for our bodies, but it’s super healthy for our skin as well. Water keeps it looking fresh, meaning that you’ll have a more youthful appearance naturally.

Hydration is also crucial for getting the best results out of your treatments. When you don’t drink enough water, the treated cells and product can’t do their job to the best of their ability - which is a shame after spending your hard-earned money!

Our products are injected with hydrating active ingredients that thrive on skin that is kept well oxygenated.

4. Avoid Strenuous Exercise

Immediately following your treatment, you shouldn’t do a lot of strenuous exercise for at least 24-48 hours. Staying away from these activities will reduce your chance of bruising, swelling, and even infection. Also, if sports where you might need to apply pressure to the injection site are your thing, you might have to wait up to 6 weeks. So, if you normally wear equipment like goggles and you’ve had your cheeks done, you should speak to your cosmetic nurse at your appointment!

After these waiting periods, you can exercise normally. Just remember though that while it is important to stay healthy, lots of exercise can speed up your metabolism and while you may lose weight, you may also break down the ingredients in your injectables more quickly.

5. Avoid Stress

Yeah… we know that this one isn’t always possible. With our lives turned upside down more often than not these days, a little bit of stress is natural.

However, keep in mind that when we’re stressed, our faces are naturally more expressive, which can lead to more lines and wrinkles. Stress also ages us because it leads to a special stress hormone called cortisol being made in high amounts. This can break down your skin’s collagen and elastin. Stress can also cause inflammation and the acceleration of aging processes in your cells.

The Injectables Skin Care range has a unique blend of ingredients that help to rebalance the skin from visible effects of daily stress.

Having trouble? Speak to your GP. They may have solutions for stress that can help.
